ooshcon is a Samoan ‘decipher of circles’, who specialises in free-body methodologies.
The core belief ‘
ina ia sosolo le alofa / so love may flow’ is imbued into ooshcon’s evolving practice and way of being.


ooshcon’s practice, dance training and theatre work is grounded and actualised through the forms and philosophies of Waving Dance culture, Krump Dance culture, Animation Dance, Geometric Dance, Breath-Work and Character/Entity-building. ooshcon embraces these forms with emotional rigour and innovative theatrical practices in pursuit of ‘formlessness’. ooshcon works collectively with
Jahra Wasasala under the name ‘CONJAH’, creating solo and ensemble works and producing festivals. Through CONJAH, ooshcon was awarded the Arts Foundation Tumu Toi 2022 Springboard Award. As part of that award, CONJAH was mentored by globally acclaimed artist Lisa Reihana MNZM.
Within the realms of Krump, ooshcon is a member of one of the oldest Krump families in Aotearoa, NZ; Ayz/Omen Krump Fam, and is under the name ‘Lil Ayz’.

ooshcon is a trusted facilitator throughout his practice and communities. Through his facilitation practice ooshcon strives to symbolically assist others to journey into new personal depths and build on their own ‘emotional content’. ooshcon shared his facilitation work through organisations such as Moving Tāne, M3 Mindfulness, Action Education, Touch Compass, Chunky Move Choreolab, XIII WRLD, and MIXIT Refugee Arts.

ooshcon was the 2022 winner of the world’s biggest Waving Dance competition ‘
WavesWithin’ and is an award winning Hip Hop Theatre choreographer, having toured his work ‘Blueprint’ (2018) to America, Mexico and Tahiti, and premiered his ground-breaking Krump Theatre work ‘HYPAMASS’ at the Pacific Dance Festival 2021.

ooshcon is an active student of the philosophy of Bruce Lee, drawing influence from Bruce Lee’s work and words.
ooshcon hails from the villages Lalomanu and Veilele in Samoa and was born and raised in Te Awa Kairangi ki Uta, Aotearoa (NZ).
